Moving
On Up - Fun Day 2006
The Moving on Up fun days held in Leeds and London were
attended by over 150 people and there was lots of fun to be
had!
The young people
tried and learned new things, met new friends and had a
fabulous time!
The First Chancers rap group with Felix performed some
fantastic tunes and got the groups learnging about drum
machines, keyboards and each other before recording their
own rap tune! The Full Body and the Voice team used
dramatic devices to help think about emotions and how we
use our whole bodies to show people how we feel with some
exciting results. The Rix Centre helped young people think
about waht they were good at and what they might like to do
in the future. They found different props to help the young
people illustrate what they wanted to do - with funky
effects and some great photos!
The best thing
about the day for the Moving On Up team ws hearing the
positive feedback from the young people and seeing how much
evetns like this, that bring us together and give
information, are needed.
Lots of you asked when the next events are and we are
looking for funding to support the links made by the young
people and to spread the word about all the good things out
there to get involved in.
In the meantime, we can keep you posted of anything we find
out about on the Moving On UP website and the Moving On
Update! ❏
