The Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF) is replacing the NVQ and LDQ systems. From 1st January 2011, all vocational qualifications in all industries will sit on this framework, not just those in Health and Social Care. Existing health and social care NVQ’s, will still be valid, but will be replaced by the new Diplomas for HSC at levels 2,3 and 4. Similarly the LDQ will still be valid. Its content will be available from the induction units and optional units which form part of a Learning Disability Career Pathway.

- People are encouraged to continue registering for the current awards, as there will be a period whilst both systems run alongside each other.
